The 25-year-old moved to Magdeburg from the Danish champion and then Champions League finalist Aalborg Handbold in the summer of 2021.
Saugstrup had won the World Cup title and 2022 EM bronze with Denmark 2020 in 2021.

“He is one of the most talented circular cycles in Europe, and we are happy that he wants to continue his development with us and go into the future with us,” said head coach Bennet Wiegert.
