Ubisoft relies stronger on free-to-play games. Tom Clancy s Frontlines is another product of this strategy.

Ubisoft has announced a new free-to-play shooter with Tom Clancy s Frontlines. The game located in the Ghost Recon universe is intended for the Xbox Series X / S, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 5, the PlayStation 4, Stadia, Amazon Luna and PC via Ubisoft Connect and support the start CrossSplay on all platforms. A release date has not revealed the French manufacturer yet, but on the official website you can now sign up for the first closed-beta test. The runs from 14 to 21 October for the PC and is released only for European players.

Tom Clancy s Frontlines has similarities with Battle-Royale games, but is more likely to be based on Escape from Tarkov. In the main mode Expedition you will be shipped to the island of Drakemoor with over 100 other players and divided into three teams. But it is not about remaining as the last team, instead, dynamic goal must be pursued, such as collecting information. Has a team collected enough material, it can be issued and picked up to an extraction zone. However, all other squads are also informed about it. Anyone who leaves the island first with the collected information has won the lap.

What is missing in no modern multiplayer shooter are extensive modification possibilities for characters and weapons. In addition, there will be various technical gadgets that make it easier for survival in the fight. There are several classes that support different game styles. In the coming closed-beta test, Assault , Support and Scout are playable.
